Kids Voting will again coordinate Youth at the Booth for the Franklin County Board of Elections (BOE), and we welcome your participation in this meaningful civic activity for the March 8, 2012, General Election.
It is important to note that there is a set number of poll workers required in Franklin County, and Ohio law limits the number of 17-year-old Youth at the Booth students. We don’t anticipate having to limit your numbers, but please understand that it could happen.
We need just two things from you for each student by January 6, 2012. We need:
-
Completed STUDENT PERMISSION FORMS. By signing this form, Students and Parents agree that students can be placed in ANY polling location in Franklin County.
Students who worked in November should indicate this on the PERMISSION FORM.
-
A VOTER REGISTRATION FORM is required ONLY for a new registrant or a student who has had a name or address change.
The following forms and information can be downloaded:
All students are REQUIRED to attend training (2-1/2 hours). It is essential that students fully understand and accept the responsibilities associated with this opportunity.
Students MUST work the entire day from 5:30 a.m. until they are excused, which will be at least 8:30 p.m. Schools with more than 20 students participating can arrange training at your school building. Where there are fewer than 20 participants, those students will be required to attend our Saturday training.
Thank you for encouraging your students to participate in Youth at the Booth. We encourage all students to register to vote (even if they are not participating in Youth at the Booth).
