Over 33,000 votes were cast in the Kids Voting Online Mock Election for 2009. The polls were open from Monday, October 19 through Election Day, with the heaviest turnout on November 3rd. Fourteen school districts participated, casting ballots for leaders of our local governments and important issues. Overall, the three state issues passed, as did the replacement levy for Franklin County Children Services.

Special Election
On October 20, four high schools took part in a special project allowing students to use iVotronic voting machines, the same technology used by adults. This special project was a partnership between Kids Voting and the Franklin County Board of Elections.
